With a little help from my friends...
I have recently undertaken a rather different side project of continuing a long family tradition in viticulture and winemaking in my town of origin, Goumenissa in Northern Greece. A company of friends, family and wine enthusiasts are all enjoying ourselves through a process which, being outside our comfort zone, is helping up to keep learning at a fast pace.
We focus on the local red varietals of Xinomavro and Negoska, as well as the pink-skinned Roditis. Our red wines age in French oak barrels placed in the wine cellar of our traditional house constructed in the 1930s. At the moment we are amidst the bottling of the 2020 vintage for our reds and overseeing the fermentation process for the 2022 vintage.
